October 12, 2024Self serve pump was mostly functional today. The pump has two card readers -- the chip reader was inop but the mag strip reader functioned. The gallons dispensed meter was inop, but the pump did shut off when my requested 20 gallons was dispensed. The clamp on the grounding wire is a bit weak and came off while I was fueling. Runway is in fine shape, with a significant slope (uphill on 21).

June 23, 2023So, planning x-country from Louisiana with limited fuel stops on the direct route. Call the FBO and Ray answers the phone. I inquire about fuel availability and the state of the self serve pumps, and get “well, they’re working today”. I ask does that mean that you have had issues with them? No, but all I can say is they’re working today. Needless to say, Ray lost a 100 gallon fuel purchase.

September 28, 2022For anyone who’s gonna or have left a negative comment, what do you anticipate? It’s a small town. Do you want a Hilton of an FBO? Runways in good shape, everybody was very cordial and offered the crew car for an overnight stay as I didn’t like the precipitation I observed on radar in Albuquerque. All they request is three bucks for overnight parking. I topped off the fuel in the crew car and hope you do too. They don’t ask for any money for the crew car, but I left a $20 bill. Hope you do too. The best Western has fine rooms and there’s a nice little mom and pop eatery called trappers. Good chicken fried steak and pie. If you’re from a big city you will enjoy the small town feel. Love it!

February 18, 2022Planned fuel stop at Tylor recently. Checked notams and none prior to departure. Within a few miles pulled up ATIS and message that fuel was out of service. Turned around and went to St. John’s. Wish they would have not been so lazy and submit a NOTAM for fuel out of service.
