Rapid Fuel (Self Serve Only) KRAP Pilot Reviews

September 12, 2024If you park at the GA ramp, you can walk to the Rapid Fuel building directly opposite the fuel pumps for access out of and into the security fence. To cross from outside to inside you may need to call Rapid Fuel at (605) 209-5466 to be let in.

March 21, 2024Purchased fuel at Rapid Fuel to get lower price per gallon and parked overnight on the public transient ramp just south of the pumps. Rapid Fuel also has a “work in progress” pilot lounge that is shared with on-call Medivac pilots who sleep upstairs so be courteous with noise. Uber is available to town -- our 7 mile trip was $22 + tip — but pickup was very slow so start the process early while still tying down.

January 7, 2024Rapid Fuel is reasonably priced for fuel at an airport with commercial service. However, the 100LL hose is the kind that is always retracting. This is fine when the job is done but a real PITA while trying to actually refuel. It is frustrating to manage and leads to fuel spillage and risk of dinging aluminum. It is a 2-person job with the extra person required to just hold the hose still.

March 9, 2023I thought I posted it previously; the pump is now operational and has been working for many months.

January 11, 2023Self serve 100LL pump has been out of service for a couple weeks, and nobody answers the phone if one wishes to know when it will be operational.

November 8, 2021Trevor was awesome to work with. We had 3 planes there for a few weeks and he helped us with getting hangar space when we needed it, maintenance, parts, and finding a vehicle.
